Join the Christ Child Society of Detroit
Christ Child House is owned and operated by the Christ Child Society of Detroit, a charitable, non-profit organization of volunteers who have been helping disadvantaged youth throughout Michigan for more than 100 years.

The Christ Child Society of Detroit is part of the National Christ Child Society, which has nearly 6,000 members in 44 chapters across 20 states driven by faith, love, and a desire to change the futures of children in need. The society was founded in 1887 in Washington D.C. by Mary Virginia Merrick.
​
Of the 44 chapters, only the Detroit chapter supports a residential trauma informed treatment center as part of its mission.
​
In addition to supporting activities within Christ Child House, the Society has an active literacy program in Pontiac serving 100 first and second grade students, and, as is the hallmark of all Christ Child chapters, focuses on the creation of layette packages of infant clothing and supplies. The Detroit Chapter annually distributes over 2,000 layette packages to area social service agencies.

To supplement our annual operating budget, funds are raised though volunteer driven special events including the spring pour les enfants luncheon and the Night of Angels fundraising gala held each fall.
