Join the Christ Child Society of Detroit
Christ Child House operates under the auspices of the Christ Child Society of Detroit, a longstanding charitable nonprofit comprised of dedicated volunteers committed to aiding disadvantaged youth across Michigan for over a century.

Affiliated with the National Christ Child Society, which boasts nearly 6,000 members across 44 chapters spanning 20 states, our Detroit chapter stands out by supporting a residential trauma-informed treatment center as a core aspect of its mission.
​
Founded in 1887 by Mary Virginia Merrick in Washington D.C., the Society embodies principles of faith, love, and a profound desire to positively impact the lives of children in need.
​
In addition to its support for Christ Child House, the Society actively runs a literacy program in Pontiac, benefiting 100 first and second grade students, and upholds the Christ Child tradition of creating layette packages comprising infant clothing and supplies. Annually, our Detroit Chapter distributes over 2,000 layette packages to local social service agencies.
​
To sustain our operations, we rely on funds raised through volunteer-driven special events, including the spring "Pour les Enfants" luncheon and the annual "Night of Angels" fundraising gala held each fall.
